King Of Hearts

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Dont make a demon of me,
a midguided angel perhaps,
an intelligent fool for certain,
yet a heart never shaken,
defences never taken,
drawbridge lowered perhaps,
but never by design,
throne never toppled, yet sometimes empty,
white canvass, muddied by insecurities,
dirtied by enthusiasm diverted,
cleaned once more yet somewhat stained,
in pain i caress what is left,
mould it in to some form of hope,
fragile in substance,
yet solid in endurance,
from these walls once crumbled,
I take the mortar of childhood innocence,
and the bricks of sincerity,
and build bridges over imperections rot,
we kill it off with goodness and guile,
Courage can only come where there is fear,
like a trusty sword this is always near,
knowing that you see the truth,
every motive, every cavalry advance,
not on my own, but with your army behind it,
It knows not how to lose,
It knows not how to fall,
It refuses to shrink,
they can take your past,
but never your future,
I shall be the soldier,
you will be my saviour,
together it is unstoppable,
It is the king of hearts.

Hi,

This is a beautiful and powerful piece of poetry,
with some great lines ............

''they can take your past, but never your future''

Encouragement, in its true sense!

Well written, my friend.

Tommy
