Extreme Makeover

Contributed by willofree on Tuesday, 20th July 2010 @ 06:23:19 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

For reasons I do not understand
the tears began to flow.
The person I envision myself to be,
triggered something emotional in me.

Emotions transparent and so close to the surface,
make me feel more deeply.
The spirit of love helps others to survive,
making it selfish to focus on concerns of self-pride.

The joy of giving to others
for the sake of a caring childs heart,
makes me aware of my own selfish heart.
For it is better to give than to receive.

The workers giving their all,
the love of the human spirit
was "Cassandra's" call.
The joy of a loving smile given as a gift of appriciation to all.

Sometimes we all get so self consumed that we forget that there are others less fortunate than we are.
It takes an event like this to bring it back into the focus of our minds.
Clearly it did.

Hi stranger :)

This is so heartfelt and honest, and more than a tribute to someone brave, it is a statement of life.
To give and receive is the eternal struggle we all fight.
This is a thought provoking piece, it all works.
