Promise Of Always

Contributed by lovingwhispers on Tuesday, 20th July 2010 @ 06:59:59 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Late at night she wanders, the corridors of her mind
Searching through the dusty rooms, hoping she may find
Just a glimpse of yesterdays, the smiles she wore in place
A time before light faded, before tears had stained her face

A quiet prayer in hopes he hears her,"Please forgive me,I am weak"
"I cannot be without you",as tears grace her aging cheek
She remembers long ago, when he had promised always they'd be
Never one without the other,"forever always you and me"

Late at night he watches, the way she searches through her mind
Sifting through the yesterdays, she can never leave behind
"Always" was spoken softly,as he held her many years ago
A time before light faded, before his time had come and so...

Now every night he watches, and stays right by her side
For his love has lost the will to live, because her heart has died
He whispers from the heavens, and kisses her every tear
"My love,I'm always with you,for always I will be near"

You flow your poems with such natural ease. I find that quite impressive and this is truly a beautiful write with beautiful sentiments.

Thank you for a wonderful read.

This simply "Exquisite Delight!" You must have read my mind LW for this is exactly how I feel almost every evening of the day. He's been gone some 40 years almost to the day,
and yet, I can feel him very near. My dear love lost, until someday..........
Where do you find the words? where do you find the feelings for these loving and yearning writes?
You had to experience them, for no pen can write without feeling it first.
Lovely, dear simply lovely
Warm love

Hi,

You recently made a comment on one of my poems
and this led me to your page - and glad I am to
have found it.

A beautiful piece of poetry, written with sincerity,
gentleness, and undying love. I'm guessing that
the ''he'' in your lines was your husband. He hears
you, he sees you, and he wraps his soul around
your words.

Tommy
