.. To Be Read The Day i Die ..

Contributed by rumplestiltskin on Tuesday, 20th July 2010 @ 12:25:15 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

i'm withdrawn, i linger trapped inside my anger ..
i'm familiar with life, but i've always been a stranger ..

through my eyes, floods a sea of sadness ..
a breeze of madness, an absent shadow of happiness ..
mixed with resident loneliness, accompanying me to the abyss ..

it's sad that my best moment is the day i die ..
maybe only then, those who mock, will then cry ..
maybe no one will shed a tear the day i lie ..
maybe i won't get a chance to say my final goodbye ..
yet i shall someday be forgotten, tears will someday dry ..
but i wanted to be remembered, so i wrote my final good-bye ..

Wow, very deep.
Dark material, but a ray of light as far as creativity. Good job.

Each one of us are the sum total of all the experiences in our life, and so, as I read your poem, I remembered as a battered child, each time I was beaten, I'd think "They will cry when I'm dead and gone!. I'm 73 now, and I've out lived them both. Even until the day they died, they insisted that I was a horrible person and deserved all that abuse! I was wrong, if I had died first, they wouldn't have shed a tear! But I'm glad I had the same thought as you have in your poem..........It was simply my way out!
And it served me well, I hope it does for you too!
Great write
Warm love

I liked it for both the topic and the way it was written.
