Sunny Side Up

Contributed by lovingwhispers on Friday, 16th July 2010 @ 11:07:36 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Sunny side up in warm daylight hours
I fall slowly through time without you
Lyrics that could be the colours of my soul
Drift on the backdrop of an endless blue

Words are created on a canvas of kindness
With the ones who stop by my garden path
You cannot be seen, you're nowhere around
But always I am talking to you in my heart

A cooling breeze tells of a March afternoon
As the childrens laughter carries me away
In the hustle and madness of teatime rush
Thoughts of you, come so softly to play

You cannot be seen, you're nowhere around
But yet I can hear you and feel you close by
All this time I have kept you with me each day
The missing is strong, but I've no need to cry

A scarlet reminder sings pretty within me
Like a tender paintbrush to discarded art
You revamped a portrait of yesterdays pain
To create a feeling of hope in my heart

Sunny side up in warm daylight hours
To the world you are not around
You may not be seen by anyone else
But in my heart you can always be found

Gloriously beautiful. There is so much in here
I can taste. And though the superficial emotion
feels good, there is a bitter sweetness to the
whole of it. A depth of emotion that cuts like a knife.
Wonderful writing. It brushes the skin like a soft kiss.

Excellent post. -- Achelois

Not only do you have a great flair for metaphor, you flow, rhyme, and rhythm are flawless. The person you wrote this far has received a perfect gift. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. It's beautiful!
