I look along the line,
between confidence and time,
I swear it moves as doubt improves,
sealed away in friendships cage,
yet non-receipt of lovers wage,
undaunting and safe,
yet warmer than cold,
awaiting one to be so bold,
yet boldness cuts if mis directed,
as glaring signs go undetected,
Your eyes render me speechless,
they are gateways to the soul,
a soul thats worth the wait for,
but worth rejections toll?,
youve spilled in to my blood,
control my every thought,
you always did, you always have,
a skill that cant be taught,
History can deter, and equally inspire,
so shall we freeze it here, or simply just retire,
is the fear with me, or is it on your side?,
an effortless intrusion of hearts that might collide,
so i'll watch you shine amonst the dross,
and bide this time, in fear of loss,
a heart so loved, a mind alight,
a hope that thins with each passing night,
if i could tread where others fear,
id bring you close and hold you near,
and break away from this old cage,
and make your love the final page,
Always been there, always bright,
my conscience implores me to give up the fight,
and youve been the one for so very long,
nestled away in freindships song,
damaged and numb I watch as you glow,
and Yet I can't tell you, so you'll never know.

Hi,

Well structured and written with style.

Re-think your last line and show your 'friend'
this excellent piece of poetry. Who knows what
might come of it?

Tommy

Really a nice write...

For your own sake don't stop writing...

Read my post "Balance" ... it's erily similar in a thematic sort of way

God bless and keep writing

Had to read it a few times. But not for understanding.Just because I adored it so much!
Heartfelt and tender, yet filled with sorrow.
Yes I agree...you simply must allow your heart to dance away from the page and been seen.
Truly an excellent piece!
Blessings
LW

This is a lovely warm heartfelt poem with some great expressive poetic lines....sealed away in friendship's cage..... if I could tread where others' fear,I'd bring you close and hold you near, there lies the pivotal line of not only the poem but maybe the answer well written

This was tight. I have had the same feelings for a couple of my friends at one time. My silence to not telling them how I felt had made them move to see love somewhere else. I wait till they are attached then I release my silence
