What would she like I wondered
Could I get her some jewellery?
What sort would she like I pondered
As I walked towards the display gallery.
It stood elegant on the display counter
Waiting eager to capture my attention.
Least did I expect this encounter
My mind whirled without retention.
It’s just another birthday I thought
My mind was filled with reluctance.
Though the urge to purchase I fought
The occasion warranted its importance.
What the heck I seemed to like it
So ahead with the purchase I did.
With radiant beam my face was lit
To the friendly cashier a farewll I bid.
