In the misty dense damp airwaves, a noise is heard
In an innocent youngter's dreams, I'll make you scared
When you feel a shudder, or a murmer, or a stutter
You look to the skies but you fail to realise
I'm staring right up at you from the gutter.
I hide in the shadows where I feel at peace
I sleep in the ditches with the rain and the grease
You waste your time hiding behind that old man priest
But I'll find you somehow, beneath the crease
Oh, you could say, I'm like a secret police.
Not until my business is done will I have my feast.
I feel sorry for them all, being so incapable and small
Cowering in the hall with their head against the wall
Sometimes even the ones with so much promise and rigor
Can turn on themselves and pull the trigger
Evil as I am, I wish they'd go for something bigger.
And not have to spend their whole life haunted by
their own personal Grave Digger.
