Along the road of yesteryears, I walked
Remembering, my long lost friends of the past.
My classmates of secondary school I stalked
Yearning to see them, a search net I did cast.
How would they, look now, I wondered
Surely they would have blossomed to heights.
Their names in the directories I pondered
Anxiously to, locate those out of sights.
It’s amazing how fast time has passed by
Little then, did we realise its preciousness.
As naive and innocent as the blue sky
Over the years we matured with graciousness.
How I yearn to relive those wonderful days
And cherish the fun and laughter of our youth.
How together we played along the sunset bays
The memories of it all still remain so s

Nostalgia never leaves us, does it ?
The present is nice but the memories of the past are sad-sweet still ! Good poem. |
