Tell Me You'll Be Okay (Tell Me You'll Forgive)

Contributed by the_unknown on Saturday, 3rd July 2010 @ 10:11:45 AM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I'm guilt ridden and crying out in honesty
I never meant to hurt you, it was never my intention
I messed up, I'll take the blame
You can hate me, but I still love you
This anguish I feel deep in my gut
Is so over powering, you know I just want to cry
Because look at this mess I made
And I'm holding onto faith that one day you'll see
I never meant to hurt you
I never wanted this to happen
I had no intentions at all, I didn't know what I was doing
I only want your understanding and forgiveness
It broke my heart when you started crying, it broke my heart to know how bad this hurt
And now all you hold for me is anger, that's all that's running through your head
This feeling makes me want to die, I want everything to be okay
But I don't know what to do now
I'm waiting for your next move

Guilt is a tricky emotion. Forgiveness from the person
we've hurt can soften the ache of a guilt-ridden
heart, but to truly feel better we must also be able to
forgive ourselves. Difficult situations are an inevitable
and unfortunate part of life. Hopefully with time, they
become more easily managed. Writing seems to help.

Nice cathartic write. : ) -- Achelois
