Frankie and Sabrina

Topic: LovePoetry

In The San Sabastion bar, far out of town, sits a tired old man playing an upright piano.
He gives a sigh and takes a drink, may I introduce to you, Mr Frankie Santiano.

Thirty years ago this coming july, Frankie formed a band that cut a new record.
The girls would swoon and the drinks would flow, believing the good times would last forever.

Behind the bar stood Klaus and Sabrina, he loved that girl more than diamonds or gold
but Frankie and Sabrina had met secretly in a barn across the fields in the cold.

Nothing good can last forever so they say and soon Frankie and Sabrina were seen.
Klaus put a chair across young Frankie's back, with a look in his eyes that said 'know what I mean!'

Klaus and Sabrina split up after that, trust has no hiding place to go once its gone.
Frankie and the band later parted ways, down to the demon drink as Frankie sang his songs.

Years drifted by and the money run out, followed by the fairweather friends,
Frankie vowed to get himself together but an unfulfilled dream just never ends,

Fate has a strange way of catching you out and one day he saw from the corner of his eye.
an unmistakable Sabrina who had fallen on her feet like an angel falling out of the sky.

She said I bought the San Sabastion about a year ago, Frankie come and sing songs for me,
I'll pay you a wage and all the booze you can drink because I'm lonely for some company.

Sabrina bought him a suit and cut his hair and bought him a piano that day.
Frankie's finally came home where his heart belonged, so come and hear that old man play.

It seems Frankie and Sabrina were meant to be. "If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it was meant to be." I get that message out of this story like poem. I loved it altogether and it shows that an "angel" could change your life. I hope to see more of your great works of poetry on here,
Deidra
