You have always been the loyal one
You've always got my back
I love it when all you want is my attention
All of my affection
We pick on each other to no end, but
You're my best friend
My whole world was changed when you came into my life
Every secret I have ever shared is safely hidden in your ear
No matter how mad, I can't help but to forgive you
Never once have you been angry with me
You may not be the pounding in my heart, but
You are the best side of my soul
You're not gone, nope
Maybe out for a run, but always
At the end of the day, you're waiting at home
Waiting to hear those car doors slam
Or the familiar foot steps toward the door
Your head never fails to pop up in the front window
And as soon as the door opens, you release your excited howl
Boy, you know you're the best friend anyone could ever have
And I love you with all my heart
