Where I find My Peace

Contributed by vr2776 on Wednesday, 30th June 2010 @ 12:41:26 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

I sit on the Rock and watch the stars so bright
And listen to the waves as it rushes on to the sand
Feeling the breeze that blows on my face,
and ripples through my hair
Feeling surrounded by Gods beauty
The beauty of the dark night sky with the moon
that lights it with a subtle hint of romance
I see the boats sitting still in the water
as the bells clang from the breeze
I see the couples filled with love
as they embrace each other
while taking in the breathtaking view
Its amazing what the warm breeze
that brushes your skin can make you feel
The feeling of being in a different place
and a different time
Feeling as though your cares and worries
can be carried away with the wind as it rushes by
The breeze rushes past with the smell of the grass and trees
and leaves nostalgic feelings of summer childhood days
Memories of when times were easier
Times when our only concern was finishing homework
Or Getting in before the street lights went on
Times when our biggest priority
was to play outside and see our friends
Times were easier then and seem so rushed now
The summer childhood days are replaced with work
And the things that we were never
concerned about is now our main concern
Now sitting and feeling the warm breeze is a luxury of time spent
Time that is not our own
Time we steal out of our daily life,
of rushing to do all the things we routinely do
The time to stop and take in the beauty created by our creator
is not a luxury we can afford anymore
To see the sights that stop us in our tracks
Like the orange, purplish sunset that we only get to see
as we drive on the highway to our destination
Or looking above at the soft white billowy clouds
that remind us of childish shapes and characters
The small pleasures of life we take for granted
are the small non materialistic things I enjoy
I sit on a rock on a high mountain like hill
that gives a view of the horizon that's majestic
This is now my simple pleasure that I, though rarely, enjoy
but am still grateful for the small things in life
that bring peace to my soul
This, Gods Beauty, Gods wonders,
in such an unlikely place brings peace to my soul
and I want to get lost in the breeze that brings me this peace
That breeze that feels like Gods caress on my face..
The breeze that feels like God wrapping me in his arms
telling me “Rest in the peace I provide my child”..
