I saw the hippo that was colored red
Welcome to the unreal world is all you said
And yet I can remember waking up
Is this a side effect of those pills next to the cup
I saw the giraffe that was colored red
You came up to welcome me inside your head
You moved as though you were in a strobe light
You told me this is all you seen on your last night
I looked around to see the grass, trees, everything was a shade of red
As you spoke my name handing me the gun blood rushed from your mouth like a sea of red
I took the gun as you floated off to the stars
I heard a gun shot as I spun around to see you fall on the cars
I seen it surround you, the pool of red
I tried to run to you but my feet felt like lead
You let out a scream when you realized it wasn't a joke
You were filled with fear as you realized what you did on coke
Your tears running down your cheeks leaving streaks of red
It was true, it happened, you weren't here you were dead
You asked for my help, but your voice turned to static
As I woke staring at the TV where the picture turned to static
I ran to the bathroom to wash where my wrists bled red
I stared back at where we made love on my bed
I threw all my different colored pills and powders down the drain
I lay on the bed crying for you as I listened to the rain
