As hard as it was to sit and watch you cry
I had to discipline you and make you understand why.
You are only a child, just 7 years old
You have too much of an attitude & your actions are too bold.
You never leave our yard all by yourself
You don't talk to strangers & don't listen to anyone else!
It is a big, scary world out there son
You could have been hurt & grabbed by anyone!
I know you are sitting in your room
With a big attitude and a face full of gloom
Hopefully you will be a smart kid and from this experiance learn
That you are number one on my list-my biggest concern
I reacted out of anger because I was scared
If something happened to you, my heart could not be repaired
I love you Jt, know that this will always be true
But if you make this poor choice again...yes...mama will whoop you!

I am so glad your son was found. I bet that was worst twenty minutes of your life! Children do need boundaries and discipline; I agree with you 100%. Great poem!
