Do You Know

Do you know that when you sin you laugh in your Savior's face?
Jesus died upon a cross, out of love he took our place.
You were on his mind when he hung upon that cross.
He did it out of love and never considered it a loss.
He took on all our sin,by him we are set free.
He never turned away,he took that pain for you and me.
I want you to think about what they done to him that day.
Think about his suffering and the price he had to pay.
I want you to think hard and put yourself within his shoes.
He was sent to save our souls, for our sin he paid the dues.
Our savior was betrayed by a man who knew him well.
for a little money he sold his soul and is condemned to Hell.
Jesus was arrested,he was hauled away in chains.
He did not resist them although he knew he faced great pains.
They could not find fault in him,his accusers told great lies.
In the truth that Jesus told they found their alibi's,
To send The Messiah to his death with screams of "crucify".
Do you know they beat him and ripped the flesh off of his bone?
Think of how it feels to carry the sins of this world alone.
Do you know they mocked him, spit and slapped him in the face?
It is because of how we are that he had to suffer this disgrace.
Do you know that crown of thorns dug deep into his head,
That when they hit him with their clubs,oh how he must have bled,
And that for the healing of our bodies is why his blood was shed?
Do you know he carried that cross as an example for us all?
that though our load is heavy, we must get back up each time we fall.
They nailed him to a cross,oh the pains of sin are great.
He should not have been there, this world deserved that fate.
But Our Father took it all and died so we could live.
Still this world keeps sinning, our lives to him we do not give.
He was buried in a tomb where three days he did remain.
Jesus is the Messiah that the grave and death could not contain.
Do you know he's risen and that he still lives today.
He is the truth and the life,The Lord Jesus all the way.
If you do not know him just ask he'll set you free.
He says go read your Bible,Take up your cross and follow me.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
