I have a sickness
The worst illness and the only of its kind
This terrible, continuous sickness is living
It tears apart the heart, rips out the soul and shreds the mind
And through the chaos of sickness
A safe haven I find
It is not a wholly safe place at that
Its protection is great, but not complete
It shelters me from the winds of reality
I am determined, this sickness I will defeat
I refuse to let it conquer me
It comes to me oppressive, but I will not be beat
With Death to guide me through my strife
I will lay down in peace
Though life grasps and clutches at me
I will escape and find my release
I need only to follow Death's trailing cloak
To find my open door way that leads to eternal peace
