Cast in iron like a molten rock
a coin
a gear, a cog
a useful plastic wretch
My phantoms are common
my vision is shared
if brightness shines on me
the to all as well
My echoes are expected to be straight
my movements planned
strange shadows I see but don’t observe
nothing new, nothing dull, nothing good
But I can only be prodded for so long
the treasures of the unknown I smell
and I long to bathe in gold
I grow tired of this gray
when rich, red, tears of laughter around me are shed
Give me my wings to be unfolded
give me a horizon
burn this black and white picture
show me color instead
I will not be restrained
