**The Pain**

Contributed by danapooh on Sunday, 20th June 2010 @ 12:55:02 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The pain runs deep.
Deeper than the physical pain that is caused by the cruel world
Which forces me to stay locked away in my room
The world has always been so cruel to me
Don't even want to leave my room
Terrified of leaving the house
They stop,stare, and whisper
They will stop whatever they are doing just to whisper
and hurt me a little bit more with every word they spit out of their uncaring mouths
I am psycho, crazy, and a freak because of the scars that cover my arm
What is wrong with her? They often wonder
What they don't know is that I wonder the same thing day after day
What is wrong with me?
The physical pain is easy to manage.
Just focus on something else
Like the blood that is flowing, dripping from the fresh cut wound
Hallucinations of the dead fill my mind and my room
Don't tell anybody about anything
Just keep all of the emotional pain bottled up, and hidden from everyone but my own mind
The voices in my head scream so loud that I can't understand them and I can't hear myself think
Although I fear that one day I will pop from all the emotional pain that is hidden
Will I burst by doing up the road?
Or maybe down the road?
Or is there a better way out?

There's so much pain and anguish in this poem. And yet it is still beautifully written. I especially enjoyed the last line. This poem is very, very good. I look forward to reading more from you!!

"Pain" especially the unseen and hidden kind is truely painful, but I've discovered that the people who cause us pain, are usually having the same kind of tormenting pain themselves...nice and insightful write...
