Too Late Now

Contributed by the_unknown on Sunday, 20th June 2010 @ 12:59:18 AM in AEST
Topic: SecretLove

You're late, my friend
I waited day by day
As you struggled through what to do about school
About girls
About life and family
I did my best
To make you happy
My victory came up empty handed
You were no more happy than the lies screaming from your eyes
It was wrong of me to expect some sort of gratification
Some sort of hint
You were sending mixed signals down the line, boy
Some days you obviously liked others, some days you acted as though you wanted all my attention
I decided for myself I'm through waiting to figure this out
You knew it all along, but I never did.
You'll always be one of my best friends
But kid, don't even think about us ever being together
I've forced myself forward, please do the same for me
