Lies Within

Contributed by pURePOISON on Saturday, 19th June 2010 @ 01:22:28 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

To put this on paper so I may never forget
My biggest fears and my deepest regret
The look in your eyes
My unheard cries
It is not you but myself I despise
I look into the mirror and constantly criticize
I did not believe in your lies yet I welcomed you in
In my heart the truth was hidden deep within
I understood the unspoken truths that you instilled within my soul
Yet I kept you around and loved you so
And so I may remember
My regret and the futility in my anxious heart
And the stupidity of my mind
For allowing you to act so kind
So I may remember
My unreliable eyes
For not seeing through your pitiful disguise
I fear my words that flee from my mouth
Like a broken dam pouring them out
You will not understand for not even I can translate
My heart and mind on the meaning will forever debate
However the biggest fear that will always remain
How long until those 3 words are spoken again?

A nice poem, seems to be made more for yourself than for viewers, which unfortunatly means than alot of its depth disappears when the esoteric meaning you have with the poem, doesnt translate exactly through to a viewer.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
