Nights of Gloom
As the day quietly succumbs to the night
The remnants of hope fade without a fight
Sitting alone in this tiny room
Each breath brings a deeper gloom
Silence fills the air as the last birds drift into sleep
Fear and despair from my soul slowly seep
Thoughts that no one should ever think
Grip my very heart and cause it to sink
Emotions confined within the walls of Hell
From the outward appearance, no one can tell
The destruction that works from within
Continues until the walls collapse from being too thin
Left is the pile of rubble that once was me
Hidden inside this tiny room where no one can see
The desire of the soul carries forth to one that is new
Destiny controls this; there is nothing left to do

Oh well done
all who sit alone in their prisons
should be able to relate to this flow |
