Missing Muse

Contributed by desolantdreamer on Thursday, 17th June 2010 @ 02:24:16 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Crystal eyes clear as water
Empty, shallow, lost
Broken down and decaying
She cannot find herself
Stacks of papers surround her
Unfinished works of art
Words lost and missing in a sea of halfhearted attempts
Her muse is gone, she hasn't written in months
And her drawings lay unfinished on the floor
Gray hairs and premature lines wreck havoc upon her young body
Fighting to stay sane she can feel the pressures sinking in
Only twenty years young and she feels so alone
Struggling just to stay alive
Exhausted and blank she lives day-to-day
Praying for a good thing to just come her way
But as more and more misfortune falls
She can't help but feel empty once more
And throws another piece of unfinished art to the ground
Sitting on her bed at night
Letting the tears fall down
As she struggles to survive just one more night

I can totally relate to this poem. At the moment I can't seem to write poetry. I have no muse. I have a whole bunch of unfinished poems lying around. This poem is a really, really amazing piece of art. Wonderful job!!

being an artist is very difficult in this world, and we all go through these trials. just know that when the time is right, the muse will come back. it always does with a little time, because when you are born to create, creation can't be avoided for long.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
