Love's Snare

Contributed by unknownlegend on Monday, 14th June 2010 @ 06:24:58 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Where is now, we wore so proud, the badge of strength and youth
those carefree rhymes have turned to lies ...who knows what's wrong or truth

Some times it's hard to go your way..... forget what never was
you say one day your mind will heal ..... but, you know it never does

Can either say with honest truth, who was right or wrong
fingers pointed, blame be placed but, that can't last for long

For years do pass, time's forgot and future plans mislaid
thru shorter days and longer nights the memories they do fade,

It matters not the days you live or nights you do survive
the dark and light they soon unite, at times they will entwine

So bind your wounded heart ..... and shore those nerves of steel
for what you thought were little hurts ...... you find can never heal

all will once come victim to, then all, we can relate
life soon becomes a tangled web, love's snare to ne'er escape

Beautiful poem. The couplets are a nice style used here.
