That Dream

Contributed by Cjbraves on Sunday, 13th June 2010 @ 10:03:03 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Baby you know that I can’t forget my dreams
And I’m so in love with everything I need
You never loved me or all that I could be
You said I was the worst and your wording was the key
You were all I knew, it was you and me only
And I did it all for you yet I’m feeling so lonely
But I guess some things gotta change
And it’s funny how so much success can bring pain
Cuz now I got it all but you are not involved
Kinda crazy that I’m Chris Paul after you dropped the ball
And I know that it sucks since I’ve been long gone
Since I went away and I picked up the microphone
And I hate how we ended cuz it’s so hard to see
My life is great today but baby we still a catastrophe
If my career plummeted girl, would you be satisfied?
If that’s true, it’s the saddest lie, my lifestyle got you paralyzed
If I could choose babe, you know you’d be a friend to me
But lately all this money has just turned us into enemies
It’s crazy cuz now you should feel so ashamed
Cuz you used to be my baby til I went front page
How can something so familiar just turn so strange?
Closest friends get estranged when the status goes to change
And is it my mistake that I took my big break?
Is that the damn reason you can’t look me in my face?

CHORUS
Everything I’m loving ain’t no necessity
Though I’m shinin, keep on grindin
What you see ain’t all of me
Though I keep them hoes, don’t love them hoes
It’s just the way I roll
It’s so simple what I need
You know I keep my fam and I can’t forget my dreams
Na na na na na na, I can’t forget my dreams (x4)

Yeah, I’m the topic of every single conversation
Cuz it’s a celebration without deliberation
And let’s toast to the fact that I keep it blazing
And that I’m moving up the charts to a new location
But baby you could’ve been here to kick it with me
You and I, split it good, that’s 50, 50
But then you got shifty, I started getting tipsy
Now I made it, believe it or not Mr. Ripley
How I go from being the dude that you would argue with?
To signed with JR Rotem and writing all the hits
And I will never go back to what I started with
Cuz I’m addicted to this life so I will never quit
But every once in awhile ask how things are coming along
And now I’m pained by the fact that you don’t hear my songs
So please tell me that one day you will listen
Cuz what would a star be if his biggest fan was missing?

CHORUS
Everything I’m loving ain’t no necessity
Though I’m shinin, keep on grindin
What you see ain’t all of me
Though I keep them hoes, don’t love them hoes
It’s just the way I roll
It’s so simple what I need
You know I keep my fam and I can’t forget my dreams
Na na na na na na, I can’t forget my dreams (x4)

Cuz baby I’m a piranha in a sea of dolphins
First they start coughing and then they need a coffin
But there ain’t no stopping and trick I ain’t bluffing
Stop trying to show your friends that you’re so tough and
Indestructible cuz you think you’re on a pedestal
But you ain’t incredible but for sure your head is full
With God knows what, I have no clue what’s up
I got true skills so come steal some luck
Cuz my mind is a machine, just a fien who needs a beat
And I’m sick of hearing you say you don’t need me
I’m sick of trying to convince these haters to believe
So if it’s the death of us, moment of silence please
