You lie there in your beauty,
perfect for awhile
until nature comes quite cruelly
and takes all best laid plans away.
When sleeping is not enough,
you choose to end it wisely.
Wisely but for those who have to watch
the party end.
Wearing lovely ribbons.
A touch of porcelain and wax.
Your blue lips almost smiling.
When sleeping is not enough
Lying sleepless, dreamless,
yet peacefully sublime.
Resting as intended.
When sleeping is not enough.

Very thought provoking.
Reminds me of the saying, "I'll sleep when I am dead."
But this just proves your plans go astray.
"Lying sleepless, dreamless,
yet peacefully sublime."
Loved that line.
