The unwelcome visitor.

Contributed by cashfan1 on Thursday, 10th June 2010 @ 06:35:16 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I can vouch for this pain. It is genuine,
As real as the darkness that seperates day from night.
It is as vast and varied as the sky in winter. An unwelcome visitor
Who comes to stay on a whim..
Sometimes his visit is so fleeting that I wonder if my mind is just mocking me,
Other times he stays for weeks on end,
Determined to bring to a standstill the flow of every day life.
And then I am stunned by the lust he displays,
The lust for total domination and maximum disruption of my every day.
His lust consumes my every joint and bone and I can feel his laughter
Deep down inside as he watches my hands swell like a stormy river bed,
Always demanding attention, he is restless for recognition, to be the spotlight of my suffering.
And even though he tries his best to stop me,
I wander out into my beloved wild country and take solace from the sky,
The high hills, the birds and the whistle of the wind.
But always I know, he is there with me, this unwelcome visitor.
And when his presence becomes so unbearable that I feel a scream rise through my soul,
I swallow that tiny pill and the day grows hazy, my mind eases into another mode
And darkness is the eternal bliss.

Hi,

A quite exceptional piece of poetry.
With a malaise which literally takes over mind and
body, one has to give it a personality ..... as you
have.

For as much as I can, I do understand.
Stay strong!

Tommy

This truly gives one insight into how one's life could be consumed by a physical ailment and how difficult it is for those who suffer such and how in order to live a normal life one must constantly try to live above their circumstance.

Thanks for the insight
