Still

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The anger can be traced away
Through skin of lined and fading gray
Where once my refuge was a heart
Lost; forgotten in the dark
Desire left in waning waves
That washed away the better days
My soul as wholley as my chest
Has heaved its way deep into rest
My eyes, awake with heavy lids
Jump and dance when they meet his
The window of my life's embrace
Designed with love upon my face
Show me where my dreams do hide
Where chivalry destroys my pride
Where nothing is just what it seems
Inside my sleeping heart that beats
A passion deep beneath my skin
Where secretly I yearn for him
Yet still I stand, back to the glass
If only to omit the past
Letting go of all my needs
As he makes a bigger fool of me
Once I'd danced within the rain
Where none but God could tell my pain
And every drop upon my flesh
Drove the madness into rest
Where dormantly, it waits inside
Attempting to destroy my pride
A weakness I had let embark
Upon the trappings of my heart
Surely just to watch me drown
In the agony that breaks me down
Bruised and scarred by my own pain
Every time, he turns away
Nothing helps to stop the rush
Of raging heart and boiling blood
Nothing helps to clean the stain
That flows from me within the rain
Transparent hopes and dreams to fade
Until stormy nights burst into day
Where then I smile to see the light
That puts my furies back to flight
Into the skies of cloudy seas
Where again, I rest within my dreams
And eyes shut tight, I see him smile
Leaving butterflies like a child
Again to frolic through the mud
Towards the one I'll always love
Left with fantasies and bliss
That my soul devoutly miss
Where nothing's ever what it seems
Where I love him, and he loves me

You're very good at poetic expression. Some people think poetry is 'prose but with shorter lines.' Not really, as u demonstrate, a poem usually has some kind of 'musicality'.

Hi,

Quite simply, an excellent piece of poetry with all
the emotions laid open and bare.

Well scripted.

Tommy
