Melancholia

I don’t know why I
cry so much -
tears will fall at any time;
sadness seems to stalk
my soul and
draw me into darker climes
why does happiness
come and go?
I’m just a medium, it seems,
for feelings to have their
time, and abandon me
to troubled dreams
I wish that I could
stay aloft, on
clouds of bliss that never end;
but then I’m back to
feeling blue
and realise, that’s how I am.

And realise that's how I am, I think realisation is half the battle and going with it wins the war, its in fighting the way you are that causes the anxiety and the pain,very open and honest write that I am sure many can relate to |

man to sadness and happiness is like the earth to the weathers, now it rains later the sun scourges and at some point it snows but the earth must bear it like that, so also the man must anticipate to be happy now and angry later pending on the situation.
nice piece of work, keep it penning |

Hi Spike,
An honest insight to the soul. I think you speak
for many in this fine poem.
Well written, sir.

Hi Spike,
I love how you always seem to see both sides of the coin. Hey, that one can see the coin at all, that in itself, is a refreshing niche to be in. So you're already ahead of the game. You're an intuitive, analytic & diverse observer, that's evident in your writing. This is an excellent telling, & I adore the title. I find that I could almost attribute my ups & downs to a select, few events, anymore. Either, I'm in a process of knowing something, ups = good, downs = sad, bad or ridiculously human. Or the things I'm already knowing, come with whatever connotations they possess. . . & I focus in. Be that as it may, I'm hardly ever "up, down, up, down, up, down, baby. . . " not anymore. So, I'm off the proverbial emotional roller-coaster. No M/D, no B/P, no S/M, just kidding, just a tad ADHD & I'm quickly, unattentively handling that. Now. . . I'm just celebrating it all, the good, the bad & the ugly. To save myself an aneurysm, I just let whatever wash.
Smiles~ ( & an at' a boy) elle :) |

greatl write.
your ending of,
"and realise, that’s how I am"
declares a wonderful truth.
making a cozy space for all the others
readers who feel the same.
nice use of words,
and
timing.
peace
