The Wind----Please read

Contributed by ExoM on Monday, 7th June 2010 @ 09:22:20 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Every night I set my gaze upon the stars
And the ancient summer winds whisper secrets to me
They chant of the lands of afar
Ghostly figures dancing around a blazing tree.

It travels across the sea, defies the laws of time
Building and swelling with the change of the tides
In this that speaks there is no judgement or crime
And yet in me it's knowledge confides.

It has caressed the scales of the dinosaurs
And whistled through the columns of ancient Rome
I feel so small as the wind winds through my door
And spreads it's wisdom into the corners of my home.

My teacher once told me that if time were a football field
Human life would be the last blade of grass in the end zone
The wind is a spectator that knows no yield
Meaning that in this world, if we listen, we are never truly alone.

This is strongly written with a beautiful first two lines that ooze poetry, you have expressed all the subtle changes, laid down the history and concluded with philosophy and wisdom leaving me with a contented sigh well written

This really is a fine effort. The poem is rich in imagery, and the words flow well.

Keep writing
