Concrete, rain
Diminishes
The trees are seeding
I listen to the sound
Smoke a cigarette
Write forgotten thoughts
Struggling to resurface
I ignore the news
I will not see
The sea again—
I promise myself, I will not see
Everyday I grow more alone
More afraid of dying
Of what the world will be
Without me
The words are empty to me
A canvas saturated in colors
I cannot see
There is no greatness fulfilled
No sense of loss absolved
No pride in accomplishment
My eyes are dry
My fingers closed
The rain diminishes
Concrete and sirens
Laughing at the ricochet
