Reaching

Topic: SadPoetry

Do you have hopes and Prayers?
That life will soon end?
Do you get that feeling?
That your heart will never mend?

As if living would make
The pain so much more
As if dying would just be
Like closing the door

The door of life
The door of hope
It’s as if I am reaching up
But I can’t find the rope

It’s like no one cares
If I leave or not
It’s as if I were to fall
I couldn’t count on being caught

If I was to say that I love you
Would you hear me?
If I was to tell you how I felt
Would you set me free?

I’m not sure anymore
What I really need
All I know is that I’m sitting here
As my heart starts to bleed

I need a way to climb
Up the hill of pain
I am starting to slip
As down comes the rain

Then I suddenly see a hand
As it reaches for me
Helping me up
Before I hit the sea
Does this mean
That you finally care?
I ask myself
As I breathe in the sweet air

Right now I don’t even care
Because I don’t feel the hurt
As I stand up
And brush off the dirt

Goodbye world of hurt
Hello my love so new
I guess the love is worth the pain
So what you said was true

Melodious verses. And final stanza is wonderful.
