"Just know I love you" last words from thee
That's all gummies and roses but doesn't change what you'll soon be..
you throw a "smart yet stupid" question at me...
my response.. no as your heart & dreams turn to debris..
adoration and passion quick turned to silence and pain that all was left was for me to leave
..after tonight... what are we?
Friends or lovers? And to what degree?

I liked this poem. It's an example of how confusing and complicated, also unfair life can seem at times. Yet it reveals as well the character of an individual, based upon the decision laid before them and the choice made. We must know the difference between what is best for us and what seems best in a moment. I applaud your understanding and strength.

Loved the line, "that's all gummies and roses".
