All I can do is Watch

Contributed by StonedPoet777 on Tuesday, 15th April 2003 @ 10:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

When heartbreaks like bullet holes
Cover my soul, I patch them with hate-*****,

Wishing I were someone else
Or at least void of the pain
Constantly pouring from these wounds.

Wishing I were someone who refused
To give in to mere melancholy,
Brought me to this state - this place

Where my penis is the conduit for my rage;

Where my brain is the trigger and my fingers
Are merely appendages wrapped in hair - blonde,
In clumped handfuls, still twitching at the roots.

While my fears assume command,
Relaying orders to other body
Parts, my consciousness sits
Brooding in the observatory deck,

Waiting for an outcome. Patiently
Pondering all the possible ramifications, while
Scratching the stickiness from my crotch, I

Watch as more tender loins are laid to waste;
As another surrenders in the form of a lover
To my compensatory advances; to my

Willingness to seek retribution for the holes
In my soul. I'm flying solo and I don't know

Where to land. I should find a soft spot to ground
Myself, but my fears are at full throttle, my nose
Is pointed straight down; I'm going to end up burned,
And all I can do is watch and try not to come early.

Wow, I hope you know that was a masterpiece, at least to those who think they can relate. I'm glad you didn't hold back here. "where my penis is the conduit for my rage," - "watch as more tender loins are laid to waste" - brilliant! Personal message me with the edited word please, so I can get the full intoxication of your words. This great work, keep it up!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
