I Wish I Could Take It Back

Contributed by deathdrop on Monday, 31st May 2010 @ 07:20:27 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Walking through memories,
Staining my mind.
I scarred myself that day,
That I made you almost cry.

You only wanted to help me,
And I threw it into your face.
Fuelled by paranoia,
Fuelled by fear and rage.

I thought you were against me,
And I made it more than clear.
I wish I could forget how you looked at me,
When your face was full of rage and fears.

… Looking back wishing,
I could go back to the start.
Before the abuse struck,
Before it ripped me apart.

I wish I could see you laughing,
While I smiled at your jokes.
Or when I was crying,
How you lifted my hopes.

I wish I could return there,
Or maybe see you one last time.
To tell you I am sorry,
I wish you could see this threw my eyes.

But I accept that you’re past caring,
And I’ll never hate you for that.
I know I did upset you.
That day I finally snapped.

And I have hurt myself.
For lashing out and breaking.
You only wanted to help me,
And I turned round and started crying.

Believing you were lying…
And you got the hit from that.
And I just want you to know now,
I wish I could take it back…

I'm so sorry for your pain. But through your pain you have written a wonderful piece of poetry. I can feel your emotions in each line of this poem. Well done. And I wish you the best!!

very honest write, very difficult to admit when you are wrong and have hurt someone I hope these words find their way to the ears that should hear them but if not maybe through this a lesson learnt forgiveness and a way to move forward
