Do you know what it's like
knowing people think your love isn't right?
it's like everyone is against us
and they just can't find the light

When I went through that dark tunnel
I ran through as fast as can be
and when I found the light
I knew it was for me

You were standing there
telling me not to be afraid
you looked more like a dream
I kept waiting for you to fade

You were smiling
telling me I'd never be alone
you took me with you
gave me a place of my own

If the world can't except
the love that we share
then they don't know what love is
or what it feels like to care

If they can't look at you
and see the world in your eyes
then they've been reading too much
of the world's awful lies

we are not evil
we are just like you
the only difference is we know love
and for you the idea is just too new

A beautiful, inspirational poem. This poem is so, so true. You did a fantastic job with writing this!!
