Night falls
Panic fills me
Pain
Regret
How do I so quickly forget
Dark night like a cover
Bad dreams take me under
Black
Heavy
Weighs me down
Pulls me under
Racing
Choking
Heaven is smoking
Unearthly I’m lost
Forever the cost
Somnolent
Broken
What is this
I’ve opened
Dismal
Dreary
Weary so weary
Hearts heavy beating
Forever misleading
Disingenuous
Upheaving
My dwelling eluding
Holy shadows my shelter
Lifting
Fleeing
By angels guarded
Refuge under feather
Faithfulness my shield
Forever
And-ever
Arrows fly by day
Terror by night
Holy
Boundless
Locked eye to eye
Understanding my frailties
Forever embrace in safety
Garment
Sacrifice
Robed in shamelessness
Beauty betrothed
My protectors delight

Psalm 91
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD,
"He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
