When ALL you tell me is what I should
and shouldn't do, what is right and what is wrong,
it only presses in the point of how utterly incapable I am.
I then turn inward with a triggered desire to rebel,
as though its a way to hold onto some aspect of self-worth.
Do not cover me with your shame and disapproval.
You proclaim over me ignorance with your careless words, stupidity.
Oh but stupid I am not, I see into a world you cannot comprehend.
I wash off the presumptions your words suggest.
Guess what, I am doing the best that I can...
and that is enough, I do not live subject to your standards.
You do not own me, no you don’t even see me;
you do not know who I am. I am so much more.
More than your view will ever see.

Angry powerful write,challenging, and declaring a feeling of self worth,recognise the pattern of rebelling to find that,and empowering declaration to conclude I am so much more! well written |
