Caden's Verse.

Topic: Lifepoems

Caden
You are a special little boy, my first grandson,
And you are tiny, perfect and delicate and innocent
In the truest meaning of the word. You are as yet untouched by a spiteful world.
As you lay there in your plastic hospital crib
I see your dangly legs kick out and you scream a hungry scream,
Your tiny hand balled into a baby fist you suck on urgently.
Then your father hands you to your mother
And you go in thirst to the breast, and the tenderness with which your mother strokes your head
Truely captures the magic of this moment, it is the most genuine thing I have ever seen.
Oh, how I would love to scoop you up and take you with me into the mountains,
To have you share the feeling I have when I'm free, to walk stoney tracks
And hear the music of water and the song of the wind under the high peaks.
But I know tomorrow you will go with your parents and older sister
And go home to the little terrece house over looking the over populated town.
And I wonder if your freedom will be the freedom of the back streets,
The kicking of a ball with friends outside the house. But that is for the future to decide.
Right now you are truely the most amazing thing, the light shining in the darkness.
You are handed to me and your tiny mead rests in the crook of my arm,
I stroke the dark whisps of hair on your damp head, soft down on a chick in the nest.
I feel your sweet baby breath stir the hair on my arm and I know Caden,
That this is your moment and mine and nothing can ever erase it.
Welcome to the world little man, you are truely amazing.

I can't wait for my first grandchild but don't tell my daughter and I will be equally as awe struck excited and generally doting as you in your expression and your hopes for this little man, heart warming would be an understatement, love the name Caden, but most of all am reassured in this world when pure genuine love is expressed in this way so that I know there is something very right with this world
