Everything I needed was
not approval
not assent

I didn`t need agreement,
and empathy I didn't expect

I wasn`t asking for the world to bow down
or your lips to utter lies
I wouldn't have excuses
or fallacious rivers that float truths away

I didn`t ask for your compassion,
your support or even
a sign
not a nod
not a word
not a smile

but your eyes locked on mine,
you opened your mouth and held chisel in hand
and forever carved yourself in the back of my mind
just by letting me know that you could hear
without sound
and understand
without explanation

I didn`t expect anyone to read my mind
but you just knew

your words and phrases
were everything I asked for
and yourself, more

Such a strong and powerful write,so much expression, of feeling, of passion.... and forever carved yourself in the back of my mind, well written
