Can you see a reflection in a mirror
covered with the dust of a thousand days
This unfound clarity made visible
by the lust of decay
By and By the years make one grow old
make one wise, a congruency implied
For what is the wealth of a man that may trade his
happyness for a handful of coins
Who is this man who trades his soul
for a kiss in the garden
Metallic noises follow him where ever he goes
to the end of the rope and the paltry fate he knows
This sand may not hold water
yet it has always welcomed blood
Life and death a paramount struggle
for our idols that lead us to slaughter
These days have no numbers, only yarns
unraveled by men in rocking chairs
Old men stay while young men run
run to find their lifes riches and pairs
I found a rusted penny by the alter
and was more wealthy than half the world
yet I threw it in a wishing well
as a fortune for a dream is the greatest story to tell.
