We are not ourselves.

Contributed by iodinelove on Friday, 28th May 2010 @ 10:39:17 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

To those that stand now,
Hear me.
We are not ourselves.

I implore you,
We have no choice.

We have turned to you,
We have spoken.

We have called to you,
Freedom burns within us.
Your voice is our voice,
The corridors close,
We can go no further.

I implore you,
We have no choice.

We are beautiful,
You see nothing in us.

We see nothing in ourselves.
We see you,
Our beauty suffers death for you.

We are sick of you
Only to feel

We are not ourselves,
We have found freedom.

We; who cannot know the pain of loss.
We; who cannot know love
If not told to us in our poems,
In our dreams—

We see you,
The fear, the anger
Still, consuming,
Rising beneath you—
We are lost in the sea of you

I implore you,
We are not ourselves.

I really like this, can you expound? In what manner do you say "we"?
