I am an Actor

Contributed by applethoughtrotten on Friday, 28th May 2010 @ 12:21:09 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I am an actor, living an unending play..
Where people come and people move on.
Where I actually have a say.

Sometimes I'm the Husband with a wonderful wife.
Sometimes it's good, more often it's poo.
That's why we mostly fight.

Sometimes I'm the Boss. When she needs a stand-in.
Sometimes I'm the best, til' I start to stress
and she wants to play man again.

Lately lifes been crazy and I think I know why.
It's not what it seems. I want Ice Cream!
Lately I've been on a diet.

Lately I play Daddy. like the good ones on TV.
But then no ones been home and I'm all alone.
Lately this job has been easy.

Tomorrow I'll play a Gardener, mowing away the grass.
If the engine will start and I still want the part????
I might just let that one pass.

I am an actor, living the american dream
Where all by myself and without any help.
I am practicing showing restraint.

I don't think i'll ever start a family myself... so I can only guess how hard being a family man can be. I sort of understand what you say about your wife though, don't need to be married to have a hard time with women!

Family seems like such a secondary thing nowadays, I guess it varies greatly but if it feels right for you I guess you should dedicate yourself to it.

Good luck and thanks for sharing!
