You are sitting in the grass
you wont look at me
i know something
is in your head
so you ask me
why did this have to happen
why did you have to love me
I sit next to you
and even though you never look up
I say
maybe it was fate
you know like fairytales
or maybe it was chance
you wont look up
and i see it now
i say
maybe it was soul
you react slightly
haha
i chuckle to myself
and say
maybe its still soul
you turn to me
and grin
a face straight from hell
crooked smile
squinty eyes
rough skin
untamed hair
i smile
and ask you
why do you love me
maybe
you smile
its always been soul
