Life at Home

Contributed by Mic-E on Wednesday, 26th May 2010 @ 04:03:25 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Sweat drips down my face
I shouldn't be here
hiding in the corner
shaking with fear

Footsteps on the stairs
he's coming for me again
at least its me this time
she can't take the pain

I hate the look in her eyes
as she screams into the night
but I can do nothing for her
just sit tight until the morning light

Every night he comes
as the bottles pile up downstairs
we know it won't be long
we know he doesn't care

Nice... or rather not so nice.

Darker than I'm used to, but this must be the exception. Thanks for sharing.

I know what this is like. Drugs, alcohol included, break up families and it's not fair for the people who get caught in that spiral. I'm sorry you had to go through this.
