defy the way

vachel lindsay, poet of men
saw the good in the oppressed
and the power of art above medicine

he is inspiration for all we artists
to defy the way and make our own
still stuck in study, as he was
i choose to find myself before this paper is done

the poet in me lies here still
though suppressed and uninspired
i need only a little undistracted time
and an unstressed atmos
to lay my mind
