My Star Bright

In shadows of forgotten lives we lead
The silence of the ruins that we seen
Our old world, which we loved, is full of dread
In early autumn, the light in which we have been

I have you deep inside my memories to keep
Away from the world so only I can view your grace
But always I feel that I have trapped you away, so I weep
Now I try to make my memories of you, erase

Why must this be such a fight?
I care for you like no other, and all can see
That you are my sun, you keep my life bright
In any path and even in the darkest times I am free.
