One Year

Contributed by Elizabeth_Teresa on Monday, 14th April 2003 @ 10:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

One year,
I can’t believe it’s gone.
Seems like only yesterday
We were back in the sixth grade

Running
O so wild,
O so free.

It all slipped away
So much has happened
So much has changed

Still
Some different
Some same.

I was a whole person
I had my best friend
Though so many miles apart.

Don’t
Know how
Know when

You became an angel
Left it all behind
In search of a better place.

No more
Sadness
Pain

One Year,
I have a new niece now
I’ve seen more of the world
I’ve been through so much.

You’re
In heaven
Smiling Down

Last year,
At this time I had no clue
That all this was to happen
But I’d do it all again ten thousand times

Just to
See you
Talk to you

Just one year,
Seems like an entire lifetime
An eternity without you
But a minute with you

Would be
Heaven.

I'm very sorry about the loss of your mother. I try to take comfort that our loved ones are in a better place, but at times its hard not to be selfish and want them back here with us.

Jenny,
I thank you for your condolances and for your compliment. As hard as it was to write, there's nothing that could possibly come close to putting into words the great void that losing my best friend so young. She was only 20. There's not a day that passes that I don't miss her, and this grieving process is pretty rough at times.
