I wish I could
but I can’t.
I’m still drinking.
Seems to me
each choice I make
is always the wrong one
It’s not help I need
nor wish to succeed
it’s just I don’t want to
change right now.
What would I do
with a brand new me?
Just wear it out
and work it down.
’Til I revert to type.
I know it’s not for life,
It’s just a piece of me
that I can’t isolate.
It’s just that part of me
that keeps on saying
“One more, one more”.
One more.

It's just I don't want to change right now, the pivotal line and the pivotal point of addiction, well written |

this is a well constructed piece of writing, giving the reader a deep down inside look at addiction. great stuff. |

Oh my gosh yes! ah when i drank, it was always "one more, one more." I always needed more. Even when i did drugs it was always one more one more. I'm so happy to be sober. Well written. |
