PROUD CECIL

Contributed by fish on Thursday, 20th May 2010 @ 09:13:37 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Pretty she was like a duckling
Sun rise to sun rise adorn with flowers
So cute that her head is bald
Unlike vampires she lives by the day
And like humans sleeps at night

She has won herself a heart
Heart of a gentle man of the castle
Or so it seems for his cloths so suggests
And he spoke courtly and gentlemanly
‘ He must be a gentle man’ she resolved

He was known to wear courtly cloak
This gave him as one from a royal stock
So her heart leapt for joy
Finding completeness in her ‘royal boy’
The royal boy who is Bishal by name

Truth telling more proud she became
And sang of her gentle man’s name
In songs so choral in so many a way
And told of things he is yet to say
And even those he will never dare

So it chanced a fateful day came
When Bishal was to meet his ‘dame’
But she wanted a friend to be there
Who from thence witness shall bear
So her chorus may henceforth bear harmony

Amidst Cecil’s cloud of impatience and anxiety
Richly dressed he came but in modesty
He greeted the friend in a light air
While she enquired of the crown and its heir
For she was known to the court as it was it was to its occupants

There Cecil stood like a tree of grape
Astounded she forgot her mouth agape
For she just found, Bishal is an attendant of the crown
He is the court’s fool or better still clown
Who could tell of all this but time

After her long ride in pride
Here she stands at the brink of the fall

How very creative, how very tricky, and yes, I do agree........Pride comes before a fall........and Lordy me!!!
Humble yourself, and you will be exalted!!!!
Time is usually the tool that Pride uses for the melted!!!
Great poem Thomas.
Do it again please.
Warm love
consue
